When former Central Catholic wide receiver Jermiah Braswell found out he was signing as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals, he was alone because of coronavirus concerns, but that didn’t dampen his excitement.
“It didn’t even register right away,” Braswell said. “It didn’t hit me until after I got off the phone. That’s when I started jumping up and down with joy. I kept pacing back and forth, and I didn’t know what to do. I was by myself, because of all the coronavirus stuff going on. I called my dad, but he didn’t answer the first time, which made it even worse. I just wanted to tell somebody, and I wanted it to be my dad first.”
After starring at Central Catholic, Braswell spent five years at NCAA FCS-level Youngstown State. As a senior for the Penguins, Braswell caught 24 passes for 515 yards and seven touchdowns.
