The Lady Irish Varsity went on the attack early and maintained a steady scoring effort, to defeat Whitmer, 64-42, on the Panthers’ home court, on Monday, 02.04.19. Angelina Mendieta paced the Irish scoring, with a game-high 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Maverick Delp added 15 points and Kate Ellis knocked down 10. Nine different Irish players added to the overall scoring effort and a number of strong Irish defensive performances, lead by Kaitlyn Moeller, contributed to the winning effort. This win takes the Lady Irish to 10-8 on the season and 9-3 in TRAC action.
Trailing 16-15 at halftime, the Irish JV grabbed the lead and pulled away from the Panthers, earning a 44-34 victory. Traci Cross led all scorers, with 17 points. Brinn Hunt and Madison Moody each added 7 to the Irish total. The Lady Irish JV squad moves to 13-5 overall and 10-2 in the TRAC.
The Lady Irish Freshmen continued to roll, beating the Whitmer Freshmen, 30-15. Lucia Spinazze poured in 14 points for the Irish and Brookelyn McClung netted 7. The Irish Freshmen are now 14-3 for the season and remain unbeaten in the TRAC, at 12-0.
Lima Senior travels to the Sullivan Center on Thursday, 02.07, to face the Lady Irish. Freshmen tip at 4:30 p.m., JV at 6:00 and Varsity at 7:30.
