PHILADELPHIA — The NFL’s run on Toledo talent continued tonight as Whitmer graduate and former Michigan star defensive lineman Chris Wormley was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 74 overall selection in the third round.
Fittingly enough, his new team resides in the same division as his old high school rival, former Central Catholic quarterback DeShone Kizer. Cleveland, one of the Ravens’ rivals in the AFC North, drafted Kizer in the second round.
A two-time all-Big Ten selection, Wormley had six sacks and nine tackles for a loss last year.
Later in the third round, former University of Toledo running back Kareem Hunt was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 86th pick.
