Top-Ranked Irish Track & Field
The Central Catholic Boys Track & Field Team is poised to compete for the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) District, Regional and State Championships in 2016, with top athletes in all categories.
The Irish Track and Field team competed on the biggest stages, winning league, district and regional titles as well as sending more than 100 athletes to the State Track & Field Championships.The team won the state competition in 1997 in the 4 x800 relay and in 1998 won the 4 x 100 relay.
Over the last few years, Irish athletes competed in the state meet in the 100m dash, 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 400m, 800m, 3200, 4 x 100 m, 4 x 400m and 4 x 800m races, including Arthur Greenlee in the 110m hurdles and George McCartney in the 3200m in 2015.
Coach Chad Huntebrinker and his staff stay on on top of the latest track and field resesarch. They implement many speed and agility drills that crossover and benefit all other athletic sports.
The Boys Track and Field team has a family-type atmosphere and it is not uncommon to see former athletes come out to support new Irish runners.
If you want to perform at the highest level, or just get in shape for other sports, come out and join track and field. There are no cuts and all are welcome!
